On Saturday, 1 August, the Redemptoristine Sisters of the Monastery of St. Alphonsus in Dublin celebrated with great joy the Solemn Profession of Sr. Helen Mary Freer, marking a significant milestone in her journey of consecrated life and commitment to Christ.
The Eucharistic celebration was presided over by Bishop Paul Dempsey, Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Dublin. The liturgy was a profound expression of thanksgiving, faith, and dedication as Sr. Helen publicly professed her perpetual vows before God and the Church.
The Redemptoristine community was delighted to be joined by members of the Redemptorist Congregation. Fr. Dan Bargary, C.Ss.R., delivered a moving and inspiring homily, reflecting on the beauty of the religious vocation and the faithful response to God’s call. Fr. Ryan Holovlasky, C.Ss.R., contributed to the smooth and dignified celebration of the liturgical ceremony.
The occasion was made even more special by the presence of Sr. Helen’s friends and supporters, who have accompanied her with love, encouragement, and prayer throughout her vocational journey. Their participation reflected the strong bonds of faith and friendship that have sustained her along the way.
Members of the local worshipping community also joined the celebration, together with the monastery’s chaplain, Fr. Pat O’Donoghue, and members of his choir and music ministry. Through their musical talents and generous service, they enriched the liturgy and added to the joyful atmosphere of the day.
The Redemptoristine Sisters expressed their heartfelt gratitude to all who participated in and supported the celebration.
