India: Our Lady of Perpetual Succour Church Clinic in Chembur, Mumbai

The Parish of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Chembur Mumbai India run by the Redemptorists of the Vice Province of Majella in India inaugurated a Clinic on the 18th of February at Chembur, Mumbai which offers subsidised medical care and laboratory facilities with the latest diagnostic services especially to senior citizens and the poor irrespective of religious affiliation. The Clinic open from seven days a week is housed in the Sevadaan Welfare Centre run by the Redemptorists.

The successful inauguration of the new OLPS Church Clinic, in Sevadaan Welfare Centre, at Chembur, is cause for celebration. The event saw parishioners and healthcare professionals come together in support. It was graced by the esteemed presence of the main Chief Guest, Mr. Prakash Phaterpekar, the local MLA (Member of the State Legislature), who highlighted the importance of accessible healthcare for the residents of Chembur.

The function began with a short prayer and blessing by Fr. Henry Fernandes, C.Ss.R., Vice Provincial Superior of the Vice Province of Majella. He stressed the importance of care for personal health as well as the Redemptorists working for the healing of the entire human person. Joining him on stage were distinguished dignitaries, including Dr. Ram Rao, MD Pathologist, whose expertise will greatly benefit the clinic’s diagnostic services, and Dr. Urmila Ingle, Senior Medical Officer, BMC (Municipal Corporation of Mumbai) whose co-operation will go a long way in ensuring the civic body’s help, towards successfully running the clinic.

Following the remarks by the dignitaries, all attendees were treated to a comprehensive tour of the clinic facilities. The tour provided an opportunity for everyone to see firsthand the state-of-the-art equipment and amenities available at Our Lady of Perpetual Succour Church Clinic.

Now that the doors are officially open, OLPS Church Clinic is ready to serve the healthcare needs of the local people, not just the parishioners but people of all communities can avail of this medical care. The dedicated team is committed to providing unrivalled diagnostic services. They will assist individuals by performing laboratory tests and providing results to aid physicians in the diagnosis, monitoring, and management of a wide range of health problems.

Theodore D’Souza, C.Ss.R., who was the main driving force behind this initiative. Together, a healthier and stronger community is being built at Our Lady of Perpetual Succour Church, Chembur in India.
