The Redemptorist Fathers of the Province of Bangalore continue to witness powerfully to the Redeemer’s mission through their vibrant outreach and pastoral ministries. In recent months, two significant in-house retreats in Tamil were organized at Nava Spoorthi Kendra, Bangalore, focusing on the renewal and healing of family life and the spiritual accompaniment of women in challenging life situations.
Family Retreat for Married Couples (August 16–17, 2025)
On August 16 and 17, 2025, the Redemptorist community organized a Family Retreat for Married Couples at Nava Spoorthi Kendra. Around 15 couples from various parts of Tamil Nadu took part in the two-day program, which was filled with moments of prayer, reflection, sharing, and renewal.
The retreat centered on the theme: “Renewing the Covenant Relationship – with One Another and with God.” Through inspiring talks, group discussions, and personal sharing, the couples were led to rediscover the sacredness of their marital vocation and to deepen their bond of love in Christ.
During the concluding Eucharistic celebration, the couples renewed their marriage vows before the Lord, marking a profound moment of grace and joy. Each couple received a certificate of participation as a lasting reminder of their renewed commitment and of God’s faithfulness in their lives. Many participants expressed heartfelt gratitude, testifying that the sessions had brought healing, hope, and spiritual rejuvenation to their marriages.
Special appreciation goes to Fr. Sanjay Kujur, C.Ss.R., the Administrator of Nava Spoorthi Kendra, who graciously made all the arrangements for the accommodation and provided excellent meals throughout the program, ensuring a warm and hospitable environment for the participants.
Retreat for Women in Difficult Life Situations (October 11–12, 2025)
Encouraged by the fruits of the family retreat, the same team of Redemptorist Fathers — Frs. Kaspar, Perry, Robin, John Paul, Cyril, Frank, and Kevin — organized another two-day program on October 11 and 12, 2025, specially designed for women who are divorced, widowed, single mothers, or living single lives.
This retreat created a safe and compassionate space where participants could encounter God’s healing love and reclaim their dignity and inner strength. The program included inspiring talks, personal counselling, the Sacrament of Reconciliation, Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, and the celebration of the Holy Eucharist.
The sessions focused on inner healing, forgiveness, faith, and rediscovering purpose in life. Many women described the experience as a turning point in their spiritual journey, finding renewed courage and hope through the love of Christ and the accompaniment of the Redemptorist community.
Both initiatives reflect the Redemptorist Fathers’ enduring commitment to preach the Good News to the most abandoned, reaching out in creative and compassionate ways to families and individuals seeking renewal and peace. Through such pastoral engagements, the Redemptorists continue to live their charism of bringing plentiful redemption to all.
