For the past eight years, since the founding of the Shrine of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Star of the New Evangelisation, and St John Paul II in Toruń, Poland, prayers for cancer patients, their families and health care professionals have been held every 5th of the month.

We pray through the intercession of St John Neumann – inform the Redemptorists who minister at the shrine. On the fifth day of the month, after each Mass, a prayer is held at the image and relics of St John Neumann.

There is a strong need for such a prayer because many people suffer from cancer and are looking for spiritual support. We keep a special book where the names of the sick are recorded. We have also noticed that more and more people are calling, emailing or coming to ask for prayer.

We are trying to make St John Neumann more and more known, so pictures and a novena for his intercession are also available.
