With the presence of eleven young people, the Redemptorist Vocation Secretariat held another vocational meeting in the state of São Paulo. Between May 2nd and 4th, the candidates met at the São Geraldo Majella Seminary, in Sorocaba (SP), to continue their deepening of the Redemptorist charism and take more concrete steps towards discerning their vocation.
The meeting was attended by vocation promoters Father Robson Araújo and Brother Cláudio Aparecido Teixeira, Redemptorist Missionaries who help young people on this journey. During the three-day meeting, those seeking vocation had contacted with the local community and with the graduates of the São Geraldo Seminary, a house dedicated to the formation of future Redemptorist Brothers.
Friday (02) was marked by the arrival and reception of the young people. On Saturday (03), those discerning were able to learn more about the Redemptorist vocation and community life. The life of Saint Gerard and the vocation of the brothers were also topics discussed at the meeting, taking advantage of this opportune time in which the Redemptorist Congregation celebrates the Jubilee Year for the 300th anniversary of the birth of Saint Gerard.
These were days of sharing, fellowship, prayer and discernment. May God bless each of these young people who are willing to spend their lives to proclaim the Gospel to the poorest and most abandoned.
The next vocational meeting will be held from May 30th to June 1st, at the Santíssimo Redentor Seminary, in Santa Bárbara d’Oeste (SP) .
