Some partnerships are born from vision. Others are built over time—through shared mission, mutual respect, and a deep desire to serve the Church. Our new collaboration between Holy Redeemer Foundation in India and Liguori Publications in the United States is a combination of both.
My connection with Liguori Publications began years ago. During my time in the U.S., they published my first two documentary films—Trafficked in the U.S. and Who’s My Neighbor. That early trust laid the foundation for what has now become a formal partnership.
After the pandemic, when Redemptorist Media Center evolved into Holy Redeemer Foundation, we saw new opportunities to expand our media ministry. We had grown strong in digital storytelling, while Liguori had decades of excellence in Catholic publishing. It was clear we could complement each other. So, we began the conversation.
Liguori Publications is one of the most respected Catholic publishers in North America. Their tagline—Catholic. Pastoral. Trusted.—captures their commitment to serving the Church with solid theological resources for parishes, families, and individuals. Their work has always reflected Redemptorist spirituality in practical and accessible ways.
To compliment this, our strength in Bangalore has been digital media—video content, podcasts, animations, and social storytelling—reaching Catholics wherever they are through their devices and screens. We shared the same mission: to bring the Gospel to life in today’s world.
In October 2024, after many conversations, we signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). This agreement allows Holy Redeemer Foundation to support Liguori in developing digital content—from ebooks to animations, catechetical videos to online courses. I’m currently visiting Liguori’s base in Missouri, advising on the setup of a new media studio and helping them plan their transition into multimedia production. It’s been energizing to see their openness to change and creativity.
On the other hand, the most significant benefit for us in India is access to Liguori’s vast library of intellectual and creative content. This includes their books, devotionals, catechetical materials, and spiritual guides—resources that we can adapt, reprint, and distribute across India and Commonwealth nations (excluding Australia, Canada, the UK, and the U.S.).
This is a game-changer for Redemptorist Publications India, our print wing. It allows us to develop high-quality content tailored to the needs of our people, while grounded in tried-and-tested Catholic teaching. We’re not just importing content—we’re reimagining it for our own context, in our own voices, and through our own stories.
We’ve already seen the fruit of this collaboration in the Redemptorist Mass Companion. Originally developed in India, this daily devotional is now being positioned for global expansion. With Liguori’s support, we hope to bring it to English-speaking Redemptorist communities worldwide—and eventually to others in different languages.
At its heart, this partnership is not just about content or strategy. It’s about mission.
The message of the Gospel never changes—but the methods must. Today, more people discover faith through their phones than through printed books. If we want to remain faithful to our Redemptorist call to preach to the most abandoned, we must also be willing to preach in new ways.
This collaboration is a bridge—between continents, between past and future, between print and digital, between tradition and innovation. It shows what’s possible when Redemptorists join hands across borders.
This MOU may be a simple document. But behind it lies a deep conviction: that together, we can reach further, serve better, and proclaim the Gospel more boldly—through books, through screens, through every medium God gives us.
