The Formees Gathering is an annual event in the Vice Province of Majella that brings together students at different levels of formation to celebrate their common brotherhood. In the Vice Province of Majella, this year’s gathering was held at Dasya, Goa, from May 28th to 30th, 2025. It was a truly enriching occasion, as the students experienced a deep sense of community, friendship, and spiritual growth. The event commenced with an introductory session led by Fr. Henry Fernandes, who eloquently expounded on the essence of Formation, setting a reflective and purposeful tone for the days ahead.

One of the highlights of the gathering was a session on the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to enhance ministry effectiveness. This thought-provoking discussion equipped the Formandi with valuable insights into harnessing technology to serve others better. The Formandi were divided into three groups, each named after a notable Redemptorist: Alfred Pampalon, Zenon Kovalyk and Pedro Romero Espejo. Through various creative projects, including short videos, posters, PowerPoint presentations and skits, the Formandi gained a deeper understanding of these Redemptorist stalwarts and their missionary work.

Beyond the academic and creative pursuits, the gathering emphasized community building and interpersonal connections. The Formandi had the opportunity to showcase their culinary skills, participate in games with a twist and engage in meaningful interactions with one another. These activities fostered a sense of camaraderie and belonging among the participants.

The gathering concluded with a Solemn Mass and the Renewal of Vows by three of the Confreres. As the Formandi departed for their respective Formation places, they carried with them pleasant memories and a renewed sense of purpose. This gathering, conducted by the RYVM Commission, was more than just a meeting; it was a formative experience that will continue to inspire and guide the seminarians on their journey of formation and ministry.
