The Superiors’ and Community Treasurers’ Meeting of the Vice Province of Majella was held from 17 to 18 June 2025 at Dasya, Goa, India. Fifteen confreres representing various communities gathered for this important event.

The meeting commenced with the celebration of the Eucharist. In his opening address, the Vice Provincial encouraged the confreres with the words of St. Paul: “Let us not grow tired of doing good” (cf. Gal 6:9). He also reflected on the current threats and temptations we face as Redemptorists and invited everyone to renew their commitment to authentic community living.

The morning session focused on the role and person of the Superior. The importance of ‘carefrontation’ was underlined. The session concluded with a discussion on the essential qualities of a Superior, with particular emphasis on personal credibility and integrity. In the afternoon, the reflection turned to “A Charism in History,” inviting confreres to discern what must be left behind in order to cross over to a renewed and hope-filled future.

Following this, the next morning, the Vice Provincial Bursar and Assistant Bursar presented procedural guidelines regarding financial administration and proposed changes to ensure greater clarity and smoother functioning. They also addressed various questions raised by the confreres. The final session centred on Communicanda 1/2024: “You are the Light of the World.” The confreres engaged in meaningful sharing on the state of the five “lights” mentioned in the document and explored practical ways to nurture them. They also named the “shadows” within our communities and discussed how to fan into flame the Spirit of God amidst our challenges.

The meeting concluded with a final message from the Vice Provincial, in which he offered clarifications on matters concerning the Majella Unit and reminded the confreres about upcoming programmes in the Vice Province.
