It was a day of immense joy and grace as we witnessed the ordination of our brothers Chavali Anthony Raju and Joseph Repudi to the Sacred Order of the Diaconate on 11th October 2025, at the Mount Saint Alphonsus Seminary Chapel, Bangalore. The Holy Mass was celebrated by Most Rev. Dr. Peter Machado, Archbishop of Bangalore, who ordained the two candidates, calling them to live lives of faith, love, and service to Christ and to His Church.
The presence of many confreres from various communities in Bangalore, the students in initial formation, as well as religious sisters from nearby convents, made the celebration more memorable for us. Their presence added warmth and spiritual support to this special occasion.
In his homily, the Archbishop reminded the candidates that the diaconate is not just a temporary stage before priesthood but a lifelong calling to live in service and humility.
We pray that Deacons Anthony and Joseph, be strengthened by the grace of ordination, continue to be joyful and faithful witnesses of Christ’s love and selfless service in the Church.
The celebration concluded with a cake-cutting ceremony and a fellowship breakfast, allowing everyone to share in the joy and thanksgiving of the day.
