On November 8, 2025, we celebrated in the Basilica of Sant Miquel the Eucharist of thanksgiving for the Centenary of the Oblate Sisters of the Most Holy Redeemer in Palma (1924–2024).
The celebration, presided over by Monsignor Sebastià Taltavull, Bishop of Mallorca, was attended by Sister Marisa Arreba, Superior General of the Oblate Sisters, and Sister Carmen Ortega, Provincial Superior, along with the community of Palma and sisters from different communities of the European Province.
Also participating were workers, volunteers, and collaborators of the Casal Petit Project, along with civil authorities, including the president of the Government of the Balearic Islands, Marga Prohens, and the island director of Families of the Council of Mallorca, Aina Ferriol.
A celebration of gratitude, communion, and hope, commemorating a century of Oblate life in Mallorca and renewing the desire to continue accompanying women’s lives with tenderness and fidelity to the charism. “The Oblate mission remains an open house, a place where welcome and tenderness are the way.”
Book launch for the Oblate Centenary in Palma
As part of the events commemorating the Centenary of the Oblate Sisters of the Most Holy Redeemer in Palma (1924–2024), the book “Oblate Sisters of the Most Holy Redeemer. One Hundred Years of Presence in Mallorca” was presented, written by the historian Pere Fullana Puigserver.
The event took place at the Raoul Wallenberg International School, with the participation of sisters, workers, collaborators, and people linked to the Casal Petit Project.
The work spans a century of living history, marked by the support of women in contexts of prostitution and trafficking, and by a charism that continues to be a source of hope and transformation today.
“One hundred years later, the Oblate mission continues to be a space of welcome, trust, and shared life.”
