On Saturday, December 6, the celebrations for the 34th anniversary of Radio Maryja, founded by the Redemptorists of the Warsaw Province, took place in Toruń. The peak moment of the celebrations was the Holy Mass, presided over by Cardinal Gerhard Ludwig Müller, former Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, who also delivered a homily.
In his homily, Cardinal Müller recalled the example of St. John the Baptist, calling him “the voice crying in the wilderness” and emphasizing the need for a message of conversion in a world often characterized by confusion and relativism. He stated that Radio Maryja has become a voice in today’s “wastelands,” refusing to compromise with the spirit of the world, but expressing with strength and love the principles of the Gospel and enduring values.
Father Dariusz Paszyński, CSsR, Provincial of the Warsaw Province of the Redemptorists, declared that Radio Maryja is a place where the Gospel meets everyday life and where truth finds courage to face the challenges of today’s world. “Everyone is treated with freedom,” he emphasized, adding that the Toruń station, faithful to its mission, “gives us hope and makes us feel like pilgrims journeying through life toward eternity.”
Bishop Arkadiusz Okroj of Toruń said the 34th anniversary represents an opportunity to reflect on the spirit and idea that guided the creation of Radio Maryja. “The station’s mission is to be a Catholic voice open to universal values and objective truth. It is a voice that, by bringing Christ into our lives, allows us to understand ourselves and our identity,” he said.

Polish President Karol Nawrocki sent a message to the participants, expressing gratitude to all those who, over the past 34 years, have contributed to the creation and development of this unique work.
The celebrations took place at the Toruń Sports Hall, with thousands of listeners from all over Poland enthusiastically participating in this important event.
