During the Christmas season, sports activities were organized in the mountainous mission areas of northern Thailand to promote unity, healthy living, and positive values among young people.

The Sazomoo Mahatai (CSsR) Cup was held from 26–28 December at Ban Mae Ngan Luang, within the mission area of Din Kao Parish. The event was organized by Fr. James Peerapat, CSsR, a member of the Provincial Youth Commission. Its objectives were to establish the Sazomoo Fund, strengthen unity and solidarity within the community, raise awareness of the dangers of drug abuse, and encourage good health and positive values among young people through sports. A large number of youth and community members participated actively, demonstrating strong local support and enthusiasm.

Following this event, the Tung Kae Mahatai (CSsR) Cup – Year 5 took place at Ban Tung Kae, a village under Din Kao Parish, from 29–31 December. Fr. James Peerapat, CSsR, delivered the opening remarks, highlighting the role of sports in bringing young people together in a positive and supportive environment while promoting physical well-being. Several civil and local leaders, together with many young people from the surrounding areas, joined the event, reflecting strong collaboration between the Church and local communities.

These sports activities provided opportunities for healthy competition and recreation, strengthened relationships within the communities, promoted shared values, and offered young people constructive ways to spend their time during the holiday season.
