The General Commission for Brothers met in Rome for the commission’s annual in-person meeting from 2nd to 6th of February at the Generalate in Rome. The main agenda of the meeting is to prepare for the International Gathering of Brothers to mark the 300th Anniversary of Saint Gerard Majella’s birth. The gathering will draw Redemptorist Brothers from across the Congregation to the eternal city of Rome from April 22nd until 26th of this year. The gathering of Brothers will be a time for prayer, discovery, and celebration of our religious identity & unique spirituality within the Redemptorist Congregation. The Superior General, Fr. Rogerio Gomes CSsR, will be available for the Brothers throughout the week. Similarly, the gathering will make a pilgrimage to Materdomini where the relics of Brother Saint Gerard Majella is enshrined.

During the Commission’s meeting, we begun our sessions with the songs honouring Brother Saint Gerard submitted from across the Redemptorist family to commemorate his 300th birth anniversary. We discussed the schedule of the international gathering and the logistics involved in organizing such events.

Through the intercession of Brother Saint Gerard, we hope that the Brothers will be inspired to continue living out their religious vocation when they return home to their communities and ministries.
