The Mysore Diocese witnessed a vibrant and faith-filled gathering of youth during HONGIRANA–2026, the Diocesan Youth Convention held from April 18 to 21. Around 560 young participants from various parishes across the diocese came together for this enriching spiritual and formative experience.

The convention began with a solemn inaugural ceremony on April 18. The Vicar General of the Diocese, Fr. Anthappa, delivered the inaugural address, encouraging the youth to become witnesses of faith in today’s world. This was followed by an inspiring keynote speech by Mr. Elisha Andrews, KAS, who motivated the young participants to dream big and strive for excellence in life with determination and purpose.

The Redemptorist Fathers from the Jeevanodhaya Community, Mysore. Fr. Robin, Fr. Peter, and Fr. Nirmal, played a significant role in the success of the convention, collaborating closely with the Diocesan Youth Director, Fr. Maria Xavier. Over the next two days, the Redemptorist confreres actively engaged as resource persons, leading dynamic and thought-provoking sessions.

Fr. Robin and Fr. Nirmal conducted sessions on “Digital Holiness,” addressing the challenges of living a faith-centered life in the digital age. Their sessions encouraged youth to use social media responsibly and to remain rooted in Christian values amidst growing digital distractions.

Fr. Peter, on the other hand, led impactful sessions on peer pressure, helping young people understand its effects and equipping them with practical ways to cope with it confidently and responsibly.

The convention provided a holistic platform for spiritual growth, personal development, and community building. The active participation of the youth, along with the dedicated efforts of the organizers and resource persons, made HONGIRANA–2026 a memorable and transformative event in the Mysore Diocese.
