“Together in Mission” is a project that brings together various groups engaged in evangelization with the Redemptorists of the Warsaw Province. From May 29 to 31, 2026, in Tuchów, near Tarnów, the sixth national meeting of lay community leaders and Redemptorists engaged in this work was held. Communities and groups from Kraków, Warsaw, Grodno (Belarus), Gliwice, Rzeszów, Wrocław, and Toruń were represented. The special guest was Fr. Jozef Mihok CSsR, superior of the Redemptorist Province of Bratislava-Prague.
At the beginning, the communities shared their experiences from the past year of activity; on Saturday, Fr. Mihok presented the historical context of the collaboration between Redemptorists and lay people and illustrated how this collaboration takes shape in Slovakia. The most important points concerned building relationships. In the mission of proclaiming the Gospel, we are not a team, but a community.
Father Mariusz Mazurkiewicz, CSsR, and Father Mariusz Chyrowski, CSsR, outlined the current state of collaboration in Poland. We then reflected together on our strengths and what is holding us back from expanding collaboration between Redemptorists and lay people. We then participated in the Eucharist. We concluded the day at a meal, sharing delicacies from our various regions and listening to entertaining stories related to evangelization and beyond.
On Sunday, Fr. Sylwester Cabała CSsR presented the figure of St. Gerard, introducing the discussion on preparations for the pilgrimage of the relics of the Redemptorist saint, which will soon take place in Poland. We concluded the meeting with Holy Mass. It was a very precious moment, which gave hope for fruitful future collaboration.
The “Together in Mission” project involves approximately 250 lay people. More information is available at: razemwmisji.pl .
