The Alphonsian Academy continues its commitment to promoting a qualified dialogue between moral theology and new technologies: the third edition of the training program dedicated to Artificial Intelligence, promoted by the IArd/3 academic groups, begins in the 2026-2027 academic year.
A path structured in three moments
The teaching module, worth 1 ECTS (24 hours in total), is divided into a 3-hour introductory unit, three learning units in total 9 hours, and a 12-hour collaborative research activity conducted with the aid of AI tools. The units, offered in online seminar format, aim to foster the “dialogue between skills” advocated by the document Antiqua et Nova (no. 49), in order to identify ways in which Artificial Intelligence can support human dignity and promote the common good.
Each unit includes a dialogue-interaction with an expert in the field, the presentation of a doctoral research project on the topic covered, a Question Time slot, and the sharing of an annotated bibliography.
Recipients
The initiative is aimed in particular at teachers and pastors already trained at the Alfonsiana Academy, at graduate and doctoral students still attending the course, as well as at teachers of all levels and at scholars – lay, religious and priests – of moral theology.
Certificates and participation fees
At the end of the program, a digital certificate of participation will be issued to those who have participated in at least 75% of the scheduled activities (16 hours). It is also possible to participate in a single teaching unit (€20.00) or just the webinars (€70.00); the fee for the entire program is €95.00. Students of the Accademia Alfonsiana enrolled in the two-year Licentiate program or the three-year Doctorate program for the 2026-2027 academic year participate without further fees, as the activity is an integral part of the curriculum. Students from other academic institutions can earn 1 CFU/ECTS credit for elective educational activities (AFE) for full participation.
