Friends of the Redemptorists gathered at Alphonsus House in Tafara, Zimbabwe, on the 15th of August to celebrate their shared journey of faith, collaboration, and service with the Redemptorist community. The occasion was marked by gratitude for the many ways in which the Friends of the Redemptorists have supported the mission of the Congregation over the years.
The celebration began with the Holy Eucharist, presided over by Rev. Fr. Kunaka, Vicar of the Redemptorists, and concelebrated by Rev. Fr. Bushu, Spiritual Director of the Friends of the Redemptorists. During the Mass, members were formally received as Friends of the Redemptorists, Lay Collaborators, and Lay Partners, affirming their commitment to sharing in the Redemptorist charism and mission.
As a sign of their generosity and solidarity, the Friends of the Redemptorists donated groceries to the students in formation. The gifts were received by Rev. Fr. Manyenga on behalf of the Community Rector, Br. Tendai Tamai, who expressed appreciation for this meaningful gesture of support.
The gathering was a joyful expression of the strong bond between the Redemptorist community and its lay partners. It highlighted the vital role that the Friends of the Redemptorists play in supporting the Congregation through their prayers, collaboration, and practical assistance.
Giving thanks for the blessings of friendship and shared mission, the Redemptorist community prayed that God would continue to abundantly bless all the Friends of the Redemptorists for their dedication and generosity.
