The Redemptorist mission at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish in La Hormiga, Putumayo, concluded with hearts filled with gratitude and joy after days of intense evangelization, prayer, and community celebration on Sunday the 23rd of August.
The mission brought together parishioners, missionaries, and local leaders in a spirit of faith and communion, creating opportunities for spiritual renewal and deeper participation in the life of the Church. Throughout the mission, families and communities opened their homes and hearts, welcoming the missionaries and actively participating in the various pastoral and devotional activities.
The closing celebrations were marked by profound Marian devotion, highlighted by the Reign of Marian Virtues of Mary and a solemn Eucharist of Thanksgiving, during which the community gave thanks to God for the many graces received during the mission. These moments of prayer and celebration strengthened the bonds of faith among the faithful and renewed their commitment to living the Gospel in their daily lives.
A special source of encouragement was the presence of Fr. Mauricio Monroy Cáceres, Provincial Superior, whose support and participation underscored the importance of the missionary outreach. The success of the mission was also made possible through the dedication and collaboration of the various sectors and pastoral groups that generously contributed their time, talents, and efforts to this evangelizing endeavor.
As the mission came to a close, gratitude was extended to the entire parish community for their hospitality, enthusiasm, and witness of faith. The experience served as a powerful reminder that the Church’s mission continues through the active involvement of all the faithful.
Entrusting the fruits of the mission to the loving care of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, the community prayed that she would continue to guide, protect, and inspire all who participated, leading them ever closer to her Son and strengthening them in their commitment to the Gospel.
