For more than 25 years, the Redemptorist missionaries in Angola have preached popular missions in various parishes of the country’s 20 dioceses.

This year, they are preaching missions at the cathedral of the Diocese of Caxito, in the province of Bengo. After the first two preparatory phases, the third phase began on August 2, 2026, with the Sending Forth Mass, presided over by Father Celino Ndulo CSsR, superior of the Redemptorist Missionaries in Angola. It will last a week and conclude on Sunday, August 9.

In light of the Redemptorist charism, this mission takes on a very concrete form: to proclaim the Good News of abundant redemption to the poorest and most abandoned. Inspired by St. Alphonsus Liguori, the Redemptorist missionaries understand that evangelization must first reach those most in need of the hope of the Gospel.

Therefore, twelve priests and seven Redemptorist brothers, assisted by a diocesan priest, four religious of Divine Love, three diocesan seminarians and seven lay people (from various Redemptorist communities and parishes in Angola), have begun this form of intensive evangelization with the aim of renewing the Christian life of the parish community.

The missionaries will visit twelve centers and the mother church, dedicated to Saint Anne.

In this way, the Redemptorist missionaries in Angola, faithful to the motto of this six-year period, announce the Good News of hope, following in the footsteps of the Redeemer.
