(Harare, Zimbabwe) The novitiate for part of the Conference of Africa, currently used by Redemptorist units Zimbabwe, South Africa, Kenya and Mozambique, is situated on the outskirts of Harare.

Last July the previous group of novices was professed and the new group of four arrived, two from Zimbabwe and two from Kenya.

They are (from left to right): Simbarashe Mashambidze, Pius Juma Owino, Fredrick Omondi Oyoko, and Ngonidzashe Magaya:

Their Novice Director is Fr. Joseph Musendami and the Socius is Fr. Victor Bushu.  The Regional Leader, Brother Benjamin Posvo and other confreres were present at the Investiture at which the novices received the Redemptorist habit and rosary beads, on the feast of Saint Gerard Majella on 16th October.

As well as leading a life of prayer and receiving daily instructions in our charism, our history and in prayer, the novices are engaged in a variety of minor social apostolates in the nearby townships. Besides, they cultivate fruit and vegetables and manage the land on which the noviciate house is situated.
