Celebration of the Feast of St Alphonsus with Vibrancy and Joy in Sri Lanka

The 1st of August is a great day for all the Redemptorists all over the world as we celebrate the Feast of St Alphonsus Maria de Liguori. Similarly, the Redemptorist community in the Region of Colombo celebrated the 236th anniversary of our beloved founder St. Alphonsus amidst many festivities and vibrancy at St. Theresa’s Parish in Colombo.

The day began with the celebration of Holy Mass and went on to showcase an evening of joy and togetherness uniting all the people of the community. The highlight of the evening’s celebration was a digital display on the life of St Alphonsus which aimed to educate the faithful on the Alphonsian Spirituality, his writings, and the role of Redemptorists around the world, encouraging everyone to follow in the footsteps of the Holy Redeemer through the beautiful example of St Alphonsus’ life.

Celebrations continued as the faithful commemorated the feast day, partaking in various games and fun activities whilst sharing meals together as one redemptorist family.
