On Sunday 3rd September 2023, Two of our brothers Fabrizio Podda and Gianluigi Colucci made their perpetual profession of the vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience, together with the vow and oath of perseverance in our church of San Gioacchino in Rome. Both prepared, together with three other companions from other Units, for profession with the month of spiritual renewal, which took place last July in Svat á  Hora (Czech Republic).

The solemn celebration of Profession was presided over by the Provincial Superior of Rome, Fr. Antonio Cirulli, and the Vicar General Fr. François Stanula, the General Consultor Fr. Nicolas Ayouba and the Coordinator of the Conference of Europe Fr. Johannes Römelt also participated.

The celebration was attended by brothers from the communities of San Gioacchino, Monterone and Saint Alphonsus in Rome, from other communities of the Province of Rome and Naples, from the Collegio Maggiore and two brothers from the Province of Lviv.

The Father Provincial underlined in his homily the importance of a life entirely consecrated to God and to the service of our brothers and sisters, especially the most abandoned, without compromising with today’s individualistic mentality or seeking comfort and easy accommodation.

The two confreres belong to the Province of Rome: they made their temporary profession in 2019, after the year of novitiate in Ciorani, “Mother House of the Congregation”, they concluded their theological studies at the Pontifical Lateran University, being part of the Interprovincial Student community of Rome.

Fabrizio Podda, 29 years old, is a native of San Sperate, in the Archdiocese of Cagliari, and after his theological studies, he had a year of pastoral experience in the Province of London, precisely in the community of S. Maria in Clapham (London).

Gianluigi Colucci. 25 years old, he is a native of Francavilla al Mare, in the Archdiocese of Chieti-Vasto, and after his theological studies, he spent a year of pastoral experience at our Albanian Mission, working above all in our Parish of Saint Alphonsus in Kamëz (Tirana).

Let us accompany with prayer these two of our brothers who have become Redemptorists forever!
