The 67th National Conference of the Missionary Team “Wschód,” an evangelization group composed of lay people and Redemptorists, active since 1991, was held from May 1 to 4, 2025, under the motto “Missionaries of Hope” at the Redemptorist retreat house in Krakow.
The conference was dedicated to preparing for the summer retreats organized by the “Wschód” Missionary Team in Ukraine (three sessions) and Moldova (two sessions). Team members presented and discussed catechesis for the retreats for children and young people. They also participated in dance workshops led by Sister Anna of the Congregation of the Sisters of the Sacred Heart. The experience of gathering, rejoicing, praying together, and learning new skills will undoubtedly bear fruit in the summer when we lead retreats for children and young people.
The spiritual leader of the meeting was Fr. Witold Hetnar CSsR, former coordinator of the Team, and the participants were also visited by Fr. Dariusz Paszyński CSsR, Superior of the Warsaw Province of the Redemptorists. We also heard a lecture on the witnesses of faith in the East: Sister Tatiana introduced us to the figure of the Franciscan martyr, Blessed Herman Stępień.
I express my immense gratitude for the opportunity to participate in this beautiful event, filled with inspiring people. I also want to thank the organizers for their hard work in preparing and coordinating our meeting.
