The RYVM in the Bangalore Province rejoices to announce about the two biggest Youth leaders gathering which was held in Bangalore, South India and Pandripani, North India. This was the first ever gathering of such large youth groups from our Redemptorist parishes. In this article we are happy to present the first event that took place in Bangalore. We had over 50 youth from different parishes of four different states of South India. (Karnataka, Kerala, Andhra Telangana and Tamil Nadu). The main objectives of the RYM 2025 were:
- To bring together the Redemptorist youth
- To share about the Redemptorist history and Spirituality
- For a cultural exchange
- To strengthen the Youth in their faith and youth ministry
- The larger vision is to form them to become the Redemptorist Youth in the long run
- To reach and share the sexennial and Jubilee theme of Hope with the Youngsters)
By this we want the aim of RYVM to start taking root. i.e. “The Youth ministry for and with the Youth.”

The Redemptorist youth had a truly blessed opportunity to come together from across the southern region of India for RYM 2025, held from May 23 to 25 at Nava Spoorthi Kendra in the Bangalore Province. This was more than just a youth gathering, it was a mission. A mission where young hearts were called to follow in the footsteps of St. Alphonsus Liguori, our spiritual father, who reminds us that every youth is called to be holy, joyful, and passionate about the Gospel.
This youth meet was a sacred space where young Redemptorists came to seek purpose, deepen their faith, and ignite the hope our world so desperately needs. RYM 2025, where hearts were set on fire, feet moved in mission, and souls were ready to embrace God’s redeeming love.
Over the three-day youth gathering hosted by the Bangalore Province, the youth experienced God’s presence in countless ways. The event commenced with a vibrant welcome dance and a soul-stirring choir performance. Youth from various parishes of south India were greeted with Kumkum, sandalwoodpaste, and badges, accompanied by warm smiles from volunteers dressed in traditional South Indian attire. This beautiful cultural embrace marked the beginning of our spiritual journey.
To officially begin, youth animators and priests lit a ceremonial lamp and poured water onto a plant, symbolizing our shared commitment to grow in faith, love, and service. The event was inaugurated by the Provincial Superior, Fr. Edward Joseph, who welcomed the youth with words of encouragement and inspiration.
An energetic icebreaker session led by Fr. Peter B helped everyone connect, reminding us that Christ calls us not to walk alone, but as companions on the road to hope. This was followed by an enlightening session by Fr. Rajan CSsR titled “Who Are the Redemptorists?” a deep dive into our congregation’s rich history and mission.
Throughout the event, impactful sessions were delivered by various priests and religious, including:
- “Role Models in the Redemptorist Family” by Fr. Sandeep,
- “Embracing Vulnerability and Building Resilience” by Sr. Priscilla SCB, and
- “Be Hopeful and Sow Hope” also by Sr. Priscilla.
These talks were deeply moving and opened our eyes to new perspectives. The youth felt privileged to gain so much wisdom and spiritual nourishment.
In addition to the talks, each youth group had the opportunity to represent their parish by sharing presentations and videos highlighting their ministry work, an inspiring exchange of ideas and initiatives. Cultural programs added color to the event, with dance and music in regional languages. It was a beautiful celebration of unity in diversity, especially during the Gospel musical evening curated by Fr. Peter B and led by Mr. Johnson and the youth from Mysore.
Breakout activities allowed us to reflect on the sessions and engage in a unique “Youth Health Check-Up” a self-assessment of parish youth groups followed by discussions on how to grow in a Christ-centred direction. Each group received RVYM guidelines to strengthen their ministry.
A unique highlight was the Stations of Redemptorist Saints on Day One, where we walked through 16 prayer stations, guided by Fr. Sandeep and Fr. Peter B. At each station, we learned about a Redemptorist saint/Blessed/Martyr, reflected on their life, and offered prayers. It was a profound moment of spiritual connection with our Redemptorist heritage.
Daily Holy Mass brought us together in worship. Each day had a special theme, The Crib, The Holy Cross, and The Eucharist. The youth actively participated through choir singing in regional languages and scripture readings, making each Mass a spiritually rich and inclusive celebration.
Before closing, a panel session allowed youth to anonymously ask heartfelt questions. The priests offered thoughtful, honest answers, addressing doubts and inspiring confidence in faith.
The event concluded with a tour of the Redemptorist houses in the Bangalore Province, giving everyone a deeper appreciation of our congregation’s mission and legacy.
RYM 2025 was an unforgettable experience, an opportunity to share our faith, strengthen our Redemptorist identity, and build lasting bonds. From shared meals and accommodations to testimonies and collective dreams, this gathering rejuvenated our spirits, rekindled our faith, and reminded us of our sacred calling: to be witnesses of hope, love, and transformation in today’s world.
