On Sunday, November 9, 2025, the Redemptorist Family worldwide will celebrate Redemptorist Vocations Day, dedicated to the theme: “Our Mission: The Abandoned.” In a year marked by the Jubilee of the 300th anniversary of the birth of Saint Gerard Majella and the Year of the Mission, the invitation is to rediscover the apostolic zeal and pastoral creativity that animate the Redemptorist charism, bringing the hope of the Gospel to the new peripheries of the world.
Redemptorist Vocations Day 2025
“Our mission: the Abandoned”
Dear Confreres and Lay Partners in our Mission,
On Sunday, November 9, 2025, the entire Congregation will celebrate the Annual Day for the Promotion of Redemptorist Vocations, under the theme:
“Our Horizon: the Abandoned.”
This year, within the Year Dedicated to the Mission and the Jubilee marking the 300th Anniversary of the Birth of Saint Gerard Majella, we are invited to rekindle the missionary zeal that characterizes our charism and to renew our commitment to proclaim the Abundant Redemption with hope and creative fidelity.
Inspired by Communicanda 2/2025, “Let us cross over to the other side” (Mk 4:35), we listen to the voice of the Redeemer calling us to cross toward new horizons of mission: the geographical, cultural, social, digital, and ecological peripheries where humanity awaits a word of comfort and hope.
The poster for this Day depicts the horizon of the sea — a symbol of our missionary journey — and the faces of Redemptorist confreres who represent our entire Family in mission.
They remind us that, on the other shore, the abandoned are waiting: concrete men and women to whom we are sent. We are called to follow Christ the Redeemer, proclaiming his Gospel with apostolic zeal, pastoral creativity, and a spirit of missionary conversion. The Holy Spirit urges us to go forth beyond what is familiar, to serve with joy, and to bear witness — together with the laity who share our vocation — to the liberating presence of the Redeemer at the heart of the world.
As in previous years, a collection for the Redemptorist Solidarity Fund will be taken up to support initial formation in Africa and Madagascar, Latin America and the Caribbean, Europe, and Asia, as well as pastoral projects and emergency assistance. May this offering be a concrete sign of our communion, generosity, and commitment to the universal mission of the Congregation.
Let us remember that our horizon is the abandoned. In them we recognize the face of Christ and the place where the Redeemer awaits us. May this Vocations Day renew in us the passion to evangelize, inspire new vocations, and keep alive within the entire Redemptorist Family the flame of missionary hope.
May Mary, our Mother of Perpetual Help, accompany us; and may Saint Alphonsus, Saint Gerard, and all our saints, martyrs, and blesseds intercede for us, so that, with open hearts and missionary spirit, we may continue bringing to the world the joy of the Gospel and the Abundant Redemption of Christ.

Prayer for Redemptorist Vocations
Father of mercy,
we thank you for calling us to share
in the mission of your Son, our Redeemer.
Your Spirit continues to breathe within the Church,
awakening in many hearts
the desire to proclaim your love to the most abandoned.
Look kindly upon the young people of our time:
may they hear your voice amid the noise of the world
and discover in Jesus the true horizon of their lives.
Grant them courage to respond generously,
ready to serve with joy
and to bring the Good News of Redemption
to those who need it most.
Bless, Lord, our Redemptorist Family;
may it remain faithful to its missionary calling
and be a sign of hope wherever you send us.
United in one Spirit,
may we continue to cross to “the other side,”
sharing your boundless love with all.
Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
Mary, Mother of Perpetual Help, pray for us.
Saint Alphonsus, Saint Gerard, and all Redemptorist saints, intercede for us. Amen.
