On 25th April, a meaningful one-day seminar was organized for the nurses and caregivers of Karunalaya Hospital and Ashraya Home for the Destitute, institutions run by the Sisters of St. Charles Borromeo Congregation. The program was facilitated by Fr. Robin and Fr. Nirmal Kumar, bringing together around 30 participants for a day of reflection, learning, and renewal.
The seminar focused on the real-life challenges faced by caregivers and healthcare workers. Through engaging and interactive sessions, the resource persons addressed the emotional, physical, and psychological struggles that often accompany caregiving. Participants were helped to better understand patients with compassion and sensitivity, recognizing their needs beyond mere physical care.
A key highlight of the program was the session on burnout syndrome—its causes, warning signs, and practical ways to cope with it. The participants were guided on maintaining inner balance, building resilience, and sustaining their service with renewed strength and commitment.
The day proved to be both enriching and refreshing, offering caregivers a valuable space to share their experiences and find encouragement. The seminar was deeply appreciated by all, making it a truly grace-filled and memorable experience.
Fr. Nirmal Kumar, CSsR.
