From July 22nd to 26th, the Espino Youth Mission, organized by the RYVM (Redemptorist Youth and Vocation Ministry) of the Spanish area of the Europe South Province, brought together more than 300 young people under the motto “All.” During these days of fellowship, prayer, formation, and mission, the young people deepened their understanding of their shared baptismal vocation and the call to proclaim the Gospel together, strengthening the bonds that unite the various communities and pastoral realities.
Within the framework of this experience, the Europe South Province experienced several events of special relevance that fill the entire Redemptorist family with joy and hope.
On Saturday, July 25, students Pablo, Francesco, and Jesús renewed their religious profession for another year, reaffirming their commitment to follow Christ the Redeemer in the Congregation and to continue their formation. At the end of this year, they will begin their pastoral year, which they will undertake respectively in Angola, the Philippines, and Colombia—an experience that will enrich their missionary formation and allow them to share life and mission with other units of the Congregation.
Also, during the mission, the new postulant Mateo was presented, who will join the formation community next September to officially begin his postulancy stage.
The Youth Mission also served as the setting for sending forth those who will represent the Spanish Area at the First Youth Ministry Meeting of the Europe South Province, to be held from August 6-9 in Materdomini, Italy, on the occasion of the 300th anniversary of the birth of Saint Gerard. This meeting will be an opportunity to strengthen communion among the different countries of the Province and continue growing together in their shared mission.
All these events are a cause for profound thanksgiving and great joy for the Southern European Province. In the midst of a Church called to renew its missionary zeal, these signs show that the Lord continues to call young people to follow him in the Redemptorist life and to generously proclaim the abundant redemption.
We entrust Paul, Francesco, Jesus, Matthew and all young people to the intercession of Our Mother of Perpetual Help and Saint Alphonsus, so that the Lord may confirm their vocation and make them joyful witnesses of the Gospel wherever they are sent.
