A New Path in the Redemptorist Family
In the splendid setting of the Motherhouse in Ciorani, in a celebration filled with spirituality and meaning, José Madruga Madruga of the Southern Europe Province and Klemens Schobesberger of the Vienna-Munich Province officially began their novitiate among the Redemptorist Missionaries. This eagerly anticipated moment, prepared with open hearts, marks the beginning of a journey of dedication, formation, and intense prayer.
A celebration of brotherhood
The liturgy, which brought together the religious and parish community, was presided over by the Provincial of Southern Europe, Father Gennaro Sorrentino. Concelebrating with him were the Provincial of Vienna-Munich, Father Martin Leitgöb, and the Novice Master, Father Antonio Perillo. The presence of the superiors and spiritual guides further enhanced the sense of belonging and communion that characterizes the Redemptorist family.
The three words for the journey
At the heart of the celebration, during his homily, Father Sorrentino addressed José and Clemens directly, entrusting them with three key words to guide them through their novitiate: prayer, perseverance, and joy. A threefold invitation to cultivate a profound dialogue with God, to not be discouraged by difficulties, and to live each day with a smile and gratitude for the calling they have received. These words will serve as light and support along the journey, offering the novices firm foundations on which to build their human and spiritual growth.
The sign of the missionary cross
At the end of the celebration, in a deeply meaningful symbolic gesture, the novices were presented with the Redemptorist Missionary Cross. This symbol, which they will wear until the end of their novitiate, represents not only their belonging to the Congregation, but also their willingness to follow Christ on the paths of the world, carrying with them the message of hope and redemption.
A new beginning
For José Madruga Madruga and Klemens Schobesberger, entering the novitiate is not only the beginning of a period of formation, but also the embrace of a new spiritual family. The entire community gathered around them, accompanying them with prayer and affection, so that they can live this precious time with fidelity and enthusiasm, guided by the words entrusted to them and supported by God’s grace.
