As part of the celebration of our founder, Saint Alphonsus, on Saturday, August 1st and Sunday, August 2nd , seven lay people committed to the Redemptorist charism and spirituality, after completing their initial formation according to the Directory for Shared Mission, made their commitment as Lay Missionaries of the Most Holy Redeemer (LMHR), and six renewed their commitments. These lay people are members of the Redemptorist communities of Rosario, Tucumán, and Villa Allende, in the Buenos Aires Region.
We rejoice with these brothers and sisters in their decision and fundamental purpose to participate in the Redemptorist mission, joining the Congregation to share its spirit, its value system, its charism, and its Redemptorist apostolic life. More than a simple affinity with the Congregation, the vocation of the Lay Missionary of the Most Holy Redeemer is a gift of the Spirit through which a person participates more fully in Redemptorist apostolic life, assuming their commitment not only in specific activities, but in their own lives, especially in their family and professional responsibilities.
In the near future, six more lay people, in the liturgical context of the Eucharist, will take up their commitment as LMHRs, and nine more will renew their commitments. May the Lord encourage us to grow in the mysticism and spirit of Shared Mission, so that professed, ordained, and lay people, complementing each other in their respective fields, may become witnesses of the Redeemer in a world wounded by the lack of love and a source of missionary outreach.
