Two General Consultors from Rome, Fr. Gerardo Hernandez Carrasquillo, CSsR, and Fr. Paul Vinh, CSsR, are currently in the Philippines for the Fraternal Visit. They are visiting various Redemptorist communities in the Visayas and Mindanao and are presently in Tacloban City to meet with the local community, as well as the members of the Itinerant Mission Community.
The Fraternal Visit began on 16th of Feb. in Cebu and continued till 22nd , 2026. During these visits, the Consultors shared with the communities the current state of the Congregation and its future direction. They also took the opportunity to pray with the community by celebrating Mass for their intentions. Meaningful time has been devoted to dialogue with both the communities and individual confreres. In addition, they met with leaders and representatives of the various parish ministries.
In the coming weeks, the two Consultors will continue their visitation to the remaining communities of the Province of Cebu in the Visayas and Mindanao.
We continue to pray for the visits, asking for the safety of our Consultors and for openness among the confreres, that it may lead to a renewed sense of community and a deeper commitment to the mission of plentiful redemption.
